Attestation Guidance

Attestation

To attest for the Medicare and Medi-Cal EHR Incentive Programs the eligible provider will need to have met meaningful use for a consecutive 90-day reporting period. If the initial attestation fails, the eligible provider can select a different 90-day reporting period that may partially overlap with the previously reported 90-day period.

To attest in subsequent years, the eligible provider will need to have met meaningful use for a full year. Please note the reporting period for eligible providers must fall within the calendar year.

Medi-Cal Attestation

Under the Medi-Cal EHR Incentive Program, providers can attest that they have adopted, implemented, or upgraded certified EHR technology in their first year of participation to receive an incentive payment.

Eligible providers are required to register first with CMS.  Once the provider has registered with CMS they will need to apply at the State Level Registry.

To ensure that your attestation is a success, please view the step-by-step guide on how to register for both Medicare and Medicaid Incentive Programs
