Karynsue Frank, MSH, MCPM
Director, COREC

Karynsue Frank leads CalOptima’s EHR initiative to support and serve Orange County health care providers to become adept and meaningful users of electronic health records. Karynsue served in the United States Navy, Medical Service Corps, earning high military honors as the executive officer of reparative care services. She earned a master’s in healthcare management and policy from Marymount University, master certificate in project management from Villanova University, and a Bachelor’s in architecture from FAMU/Virginia Tech Washington-Alexandria Architecture Center (WAAC). Karynsue has 15 years of information management experience with 10 years of EHR implementations in the healthcare industry.

Anh Ngo
Project Manager, COREC

Anh Ngo is COREC’s Project Manager. As the liaison between COREC and Service Partners and providers, she provides stakeholders with information relating to EHRs and federal incentive programs and supports EHR implementation to enable providers to achieve meaningful use. Ahn brings 10 years experience in healthcare. Prior to joining COREC, she was with CalOptima where she worked with members, providers, and local communities. A graduate of CSULB with a Bachelor’s in biochemistry, she also received a certificate of completion from the Health IT Workforce Training Program.

Valerie Stens
Project Specialist, COREC

Valerie Stens is COREC’s Project Specialist in charge of the Workforce Program and COREC’s provider enrollment initiative. Among her responsibilities are providing outreach education and support to physician practices and health networks. Valerie comes to COREC from CalOptima where she worked for 16 years in provider relations and claims. She earned a certificate of completion from the Health IT Workforce Training Program from Cypress College.

Monica Jaime
Project Specialist, COREC

Monica Jaime is a Project Specialist/Grant Coordinator with CalOptima’s Regional Extension Center (COREC). As Grant Coordinator, Monica is in charge of reporting grant information to the federal government. Some of her responsibilities as a Project Specialist are registration, attestation, meaningful use and COREC’s provider enrollment initiative. Monica comes to COREC from CalOptima’s Community Relations Department. A graduate of the University of California Riverside and a candidate for a Masters in Public Health from California State University, Fullerton. Monica brings 10 years of experience in health care, having spent over five years in a physician’s office.

Lissette Millan
Project Specialist, COREC

Lissette Millan is a Project Specialist with CalOptima’s Regional Extension Center (COREC). As a Project Specialist, Lissette is responsible for keeping the up-to-date information on the National CRM database. She also coordinates COREC’s communication with with providers, health networks, and Community Health Centers. Lissette comes to COREC from CalOptima where she acquired experience in the Customer Service Department and Office of Compliance. She is currently working in obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Lissette brings with her three years of experience working in the dynamic profession of the health care industry.

Mia Burke
Senior Financial Analyst, COREC

Mia Burke is the senior financial analyst in the Finance Department supporting COREC with internal budget development, reporting, and analysis. Mia applied her skills to plan and resolve financial activity as it relates to COREC and the diversity of COREC’s fiscal reporting period. Mia has five years of experience supporting IT Finance in addition to seven years in healthcare. Prior to joining CalOptima, Mia has provided financial analysis and accounting support in the industries of medical device, mortgage, and retail. She is a graduate of CSULB with a Bachelor’s in accounting and management information systems.
